Rally sport is an excellent place to have maintenance done on your vehicle I have used them for my Subaru for the last fifteen years and currently have over 293 thousand miles. That pretty much speaks for itself. The guys that work there are knowledgeable and care about the quality of work they do. Wouldn't take my car anywhere else nor do I need to. | |

At around 10K my XV developed the infamous, albeit slight Subaru acceleration wobble that many others with the same affliction were too anxious to remedy by replacing the transmission fluid (do a search on Forester and Outback forums for this wobble). Why? Because supposedly our CVT has a lifetime fluid that should go at least 100K. This is bunk in my opinion. Sadly, after visiting a variety of dealerships and hearing that this wobble was "normal" and a "quirk" of many Subarus, and in spite of my plea to get the trans fluid replaced under warranty to no avail, I had enough. I thus got the OEM fluid on my own and brought it to RSE. There, Raul and his crew--with the great tech Sean leading the floor--changed the fluid and reset the trans to relearn my driving style (the latter of which was done through my last dealer visit to no avail). The result? Buttery smooth driving. No more acceleration shudder. From 10K to 18K I lived with this annoying shudder and now the darn thing is gone thank goodness. My XV feels brand new again.
That said, aside from their acumen in solving problems, Raul, Sean (and I'm sure the two other members of the team working there that I've not yet had the pleaure to meet) are very nice and friendly people. They are direct and candid, professional and courteous. To put it simply: I'm never going to the dealership again even though I still am under warranty. And although I live in Diamond Bar and must drive at least one hour on a good day to get to this shop, I do not plan on going anywhere else in the future! Rock on RSE! | |

The coordination of time was impressive to service my Mercedes for a replacement part was efficiently done. I drove my vehicle to work without dropping it off. A RallySport Rep pickup my car later during the day when the replacement part arrive at their shop. The service to install a new alternator was complete within one hour and my car was back in the parking lot by the end of the day. Great Job and price! | |

I love it!
RallySport are very good at what they do and you can have servicing and repair work done with a very high degree of confidence. They did the 120000 mile service on my Subaru and it runs like a new car. I was never able to get this kind of service from Subaru dealers in CA, AK and MN.

When I called to make an appointment for 90K service on my WRX Raoul was very patient, helpful and knowledgeable about explaining the items included in that major service. He gave me an accurate estimate of the time required and the cost. Paul took care of a couple of minor problems not included in a 90K service without additional charges. First Visit looks promising
I'm new to California and was looking for an honest car shop for my Subaru Forester. I brought my Substers in for some shaky braking, thought it might be rust on the rotors (we're from Wisconsin) and a few other minor things. The technician did an inspection - even let me come back and see for myself that the issue was not rusty rotors, and that the issue was not an emergency and could be taken care of at my convenience, or the next time the brake pads were replaced.
I got a very honest vibe from these guys and will be going back there when service is needed. | |

Major repair blown engine
It was a disappointing day to say the least, my Subaru blew its engine on the 405 frwy, I had my car towed to Paul @ Rallysport Eng. My wife found him through Yelp with great reviews. From the very start Paul ensured us my car was in good hands and not to worry. First thing the next morning Paul called me and explained what happened, what it needs to be fixed, and approximately what it would cost to repair. It wasn't long, I received another call from Paul saying he found an engine and would be able to get it put in at an even better quote. Paul delivered everything he said he would and to say I'm satisfied would be down playing the experience. Reliable and trustworthy
I drive older Subarus, often cross-country as to Canada and Colorado, 1000 to 1700 miles a trip. Paul takes care of my cars so that they get me there and back. I rely on him to check out the car before a trip and to be sure that it is roadworthy, even with 200,000+ miles. I have never been stranded. | |

He gets the job done!
There is something to be said about getting to talk to the guy that is actually going to be working on your car! I've had issues with my Outback idling roughly. A while back I when I was still going to the dealer, I asked them to look into this but they obviously didn't do anything about it because the problem persisted. Recently I had Paul service my car and now the idling problem is fixed AND my gas mileage has improved. Thank you Paul! | |

Honesty counts
I brought my Hyundai Sonata to Rallysport Engineering for an oil leak. After checking it out Paul called Hyundai to see if it would be covered under my warranty. And it was. I never would have questioned any repair because my car is 7 years old. Paul finished up and sent me off to a dealer for warranty work. He could have fixed it and never said a word...but he didn't. Then he only charged for the steam cleaning (so he would find my engine) and the dye he put in to find the leak. I was very impressed with the honesty and the cost. Would highly recommend. | |

I feel I was had
Seeing as how I didnt have my car for six days and paid almost 700 dollars for it to come back not fixed and with a brand new noise that has gotten worse everytime I press on the brakes, my experience was not that good. I recently purchased a 1998 Subaru Forester which had an oil leak problem. Took it to Paul cause I wanted an experienced Subaru mechanic to fix it. He not only fixed the leaks, but also replaced some boots and the spark plug wires. Some shops I checked wanted at least $1000 for the oil leak problem. My bill was only $806. Glad I went to Paul and I will be back. | |

Long time customer
I got my first (used, hi mileage) Subaru in 1994, took it to Paul because he was the closest independent mechanic, and walking distance. I am now on my 5th Subaru (220,000 miles and counting) and still going to him for all my Subaru maintenance. I have never been stranded by a car he serviced and I have had some close calls. I always want him to check the car before one of my 1000 or 1500 mile trips, and I feel much safer when he has done a checkup or service before. | |

I wouldn't trust my WRX to anyone else
I came across Rallysport Engineering on the NASOIC website when I was looking for a new mechanic after taking my car to a local Subaru dealership for service during the past several years. Paul's shop came highly recommended by the forum members, so I decided to give him a try.
I had been having issues with no boost on my turbo. I was quoted around $3k from the guys at Irvine Subaru. Paul said he would look at the issue, but thought it might need a replacement turbo. He had a lightly used part on the shelf that he offered to install at a significant discount. I agreed, and based on his advice expected to pay around $2k (significantly better than the dealer price). I was pleasantly surprised by a call from Paul later that day. He reported that there was an issue with a stuck valve, and the repair wouldn't necessitate replacing the entire turbo.
I was particularly impressed because I had already authorized the more expensive repair that involved a part Paul had in stock. Many mechanics would have been tempted ignored the fact that I didn't need the replacement, and replaced the part anyway. When I complimented Paul on his integrity, he commented that he wanted to be able to sleep well at night. Needless to say, I will be coming back for all my Subaru service. I've also told several of my buddies who drive Subarus and they'll be bringing their cars in as well.
The shop was clean, Paul was very professional and communicated with me throughout the repair process. The repair was completed in a timely way, and it came in under budget by about $1K. Paul is a man of integrity, and I highly recommend you take your car to Rallysport Engineering. | |

Great service, No BS
I recently took my 2010 Outback for the recommended 60k service to Rally Sport. I had researched Subaru mechanics online and selected Rally Sport based on the reviews on the service and on its owner, Pete. I received the service that I had hoped to receive without any dealer upsale on unnecessary service. Paul was laid back but professional and my car is running great. What a wonderful experience
I was told by another large chain auto repair company that I needed a new transmission for my car.. I took my car to Paul for a second opinion and there was not one thing wrong with my transmission. Paul was so very courteous and helpful, he completely went through my car and checked every tiny thing and gave me recommendations for future service and explained the issue with my car. The only guy I'll hav e work on my Subi!
In a day and age where every mechanic is a salesman, trust is out the window and the only service is lip service, Rally Sport is a well appreciated welcome. With RSE you get what you pay for. Paul may charge you a bit more, but you get honest, reliable service and no upselling to things you dont need. He will also give you his opinions if you ask, calling them as he sees them. I even take my STI for alignments where he sends me. One word = trust. | |
